The Kings Highway Conservation District, the first conservation district of its kind in the City of Dallas and in Texas, is hosting a Silent Auction on Saturday, April 2, 2011 to raise funds for the N. Polk Street Beautification Project. This project has identified publicly owned green spaces along the N. Polk St corridor between Canty and Kings Highway for a master planned beautification project. Landscaping designs are being developed through neighborhood input, which include native and adaptive plantings and irrigation with water conservation as a key component.
Funds raised through the silent auction will be used to implement the first phase of this project. They will contribute to installing a water meter and irrigation system, acquiring materials, and bed preparation. Installation will be done primarily from neighborhood volunteers.
